About Newbery Metals
Formally GH Newbery and Sons
Newbery Metals Exeter -formally known as G. H. Newbery & Son Ltd –is an independent, family run Scrap Metal business, established for well over 100 years in Exeter. We started life at the top of South Street, at what is now the Trust House Forte Northgate Hotel! In 1963 we were one of the first business's to move down to Marsh Barton.
Graham Toghill co-owned a Scrap Metal/Skip Hire business at Raglans, Alphington, with his friend Ricky Gorman. In 1973 Graham & Ricky sold the land at Raglans. Ricky started up his own Scrap Metal business in Newton Abbot (Gorman Metals Ltd.), and Graham bought a 50% share of G. H. Newbery & Son Ltd., and moved his operation down the road to Marsh Barton.
